Kara Fairchild graduated from Macalester College with a double major in English and Music with a concentration in flute and voice. Music has always been a part of her life since she was very young. She has played flute for many events, in pit orchestras for music theater productions and in school bands and orchestras. She has sung in several ensembles and choirs, played leading and supporting roles as well as performed in choruses for music theater productions. She has also taught flute in her home town of Menomonie, Wisconsin, and in Roseville, Minnesota. She was the State flute winner of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association competition in 1999.
